Project overview

Sneaker Store is a concept e-commerce platform for modern sneaker lovers—casual buyers, collectors, and trendsetters alike. The goal: design a seamless, trustworthy, and exciting online shopping experience that showcases the product and eliminates common friction points.I revamped SS’s brand guidelines and incorporated them into a sleek new site design. The project tackled not just visual updates but also enhanced SEO, and their overall content strategy. We also modernized business processes to streamline user interactions and internal workflows

My Role: UX/UI Designer – Research, User Flows, Wireframes, Visual Design, Prototyping

Problem Statement & Opportunity

Buying sneakers online can feel overwhelming or untrustworthy—especially for first-time buyers.

Create a sleek and intuitive e-commerce flow that highlights sneakers visually while reducing cart abandonment and guiding the user confidently through the process.

Research & Insights

  • Competitor Audit: Nike, StockX, Footlocker

  • Key Findings:

  • Sites are visually rich, but often slow on mobile
  • Filters can be hidden or overly detailed
  • Users rely on clear returns policies and social proof (reviews)

User Flow & Wireframes

Mapped a simple, focused journey from discovery to checkout:

Low-fidelity wireframes were tested internally to validate:

  • Visibility of key actions

  • Simplified filter interaction

  • Visual storytelling on product pages

UI Design & Key Screens

  • Landing Page: Hero with top drops, mobile-first structure
  • Product Page: High-resolution imagery, reviews, size guide toggle
  • Filters: Sticky, collapsible sidebar with lifestyle & brand filters
  • Cart: Minimal design, trust badges, shipping estimator
  • Checkout: Three-step process with visible progress bar and confirmation

Prototype & Testing

A mid-fi prototype was shared with 5 users:

  • “I love how clean it is—no distractions.”
  • “I wasn’t sure where to find size help.” → Led to adding a hoverable size guide
  • “Filters are finally not overwhelming!”

Iterations

  • Added dynamic size helper
  • Reduced visible filter tags on mobile
  • Improved checkout form hierarchy

What I Learned

  • Visual hierarchy and trust signals are crucial in e-commerce

  • Filtering can be a UX trap unless intentionally simplified

  • Testing even small UI elements like the size guide can have big impact
